MetaCarta, Inc., has announced an enterprise feature set for their Geographic Intelligence System that organizes data geographically and is designed to enable users to visualize geographic relationships between structured and unstructured content. Its products are used within the government sector and are now entering the enterprise market.

MetaCarta's Geographic Intelligence System is intended to enrich content with geographic intelligence bridging the gap between text and spatial information for enterprises where geographic relevancy matters. It is comprised of three components and can be purchase as a complete system or as individual technologies:

Geographic Text Search--GTS combines text and geographic search capabilities simultaneously for structured and unstructured content and visualizes the results on a map.

GeoTagger metatags--content with geographic references to make content geo-"smart" Geographic Data Modules--a collection of place names and coordinates (a gazetteer) with relevancy values and Natural Language Processing based on industry, business, or topic.
