Userplane, a provider of social software, has announced Userplane Sitesearch, a hosted search engine that is designed to easily integrate into any community-based site. Userplane Sitesearch is the product of a partnership with Transparensee. Userplane's search application re-indexes membership data to allow "most-similar" search results, providing users with additional results based on their initial criteria. Sitesearch also supports "advanced-keyword" search, which lets users search by both metadata and keyword simultaneously. Sitesearch is an ASP solution that integrates into existing member databases through XML and Web scripting languages: PHP, .NET, ASP, ColdFusion , XML, JSP, etc. Sitesearch is compatible with legacy databases including Oracle, DB2, MYSQL, Sybase, Informix, and more.
