Sprint Announces Message Archive Service

Sprint has announced a new message archive service designed to assist businesses that depend on email communications to securely transfer important data. Message Archive, an off-site managed security service, is intended to efficiently secure, preserve, and retrieve information assets to help meet business continuity, legal discovery, and regulatory compliance needs.

Message Archive is the latest addition to the Sprint Managed Security Services portfolio and works in tandem with Sprint Email Protection service, a network-based solution for preventing spam, viruses, and unwanted content from entering and compromising enterprise networks. Message Archive from Sprint captures all incoming and outgoing email traffic and instant messages "in-stream" without latency, filters undesirable content, and then indexes and stores them in an off-site location for retrieval. Off-site storage eases capacity load and keeps messages intact for business continuity or regulatory compliance purposes.

Developed in partnership with FrontBridge Technologies, Message Archive from Sprint provides a centralized email and instant message policy management capability. Sprint handles storage administration as a hosted solution. Customers pay for the disk space they use during contract periods of three, five, or seven years based on archiving requirements and business type.
