California-based Mark Logic Corporation is working closely with Nerac's programming team to develop the content integration and patent search platform. As a provider of XML content servers for the information industry, Mark Logic will help build a new search platform for Nerac's Information Specialists, a research staff of more than 100 scientists and engineers. This back-end platform is intended to allow Information Specialists to research multiple and different data formats simultaneously from a variety of disparate resources. Using its XML content server based on the W3C-standard XQuery language, Mark Logic works with providers of information products like Nerac to accelerate new product creation, deliver products through multiple channels, integrate content from different sources, repurpose content into multiple products, build custom publishing systems, and mine content. The new Mark Logic-based system is expected to greatly improve Nerac's service offerings and help Information Specialists deliver research that combines expert commentary with database information, Internet references, and various additional resources all into one organized report. New features for Nerac users include highlighted key terms, document attachments, and advanced sorting and display options within the research reports. Additionally, clients will be able to use Nerac's customer Web site to conduct real-time searching on full-text patent files. Additional details on the new patent search capabilities will be released within the upcoming months. (www.marklogic.com; www.nerac.com) |
