CMS Watch Releases Enterprise Search Marketplace Report
Posted Oct 26, 2004 Print Version     Page 1of 1

CMS Watch, an analyst firm that evaluates enterprise content management strategies and technologies for prospective solutions buyers, has released a report on the enterprise search marketplace. The nine-month research effort found that lower-cost vendors and those suppliers that can embed search capabilities into other enterprise applications are gaining ascendancy over traditional search vendors. Based on product tests and interviews with more than 50 professionals engaged in enterprise search, the report features analysis and surveys of 28 search vendors. Stephen Arnold, founder of Arnold IT, served as the principal author of the report.

Findings of the Enterprise Search Report include: costs for enterprise search can rapidly escalate into seven figures as most licensees underestimate major professional services and infrastructure expenses; less expensive solutions are finding traction in large enterprises, which are focusing and refining search strategies; and specialty search vendors are gaining visibility by providing capabilities to easily embed search into specific business processes in a way that lowers transaction costs for the enterprise. The report can be purchased online at http://store.yahoo.com/cmsworks/.
