Zeppelin Energy Inc., a U.S. company with interests in software and other sectors, has acquired Rocket Technologies Inc., who under their "Rocketinfo" trademark and moniker is a developer of current news search, content, and publishing solutions. Under the terms of the transaction, Rocketinfo will become a wholly owned and operated subsidiary of Zeppelin. Rick Van Well, the current president of Rocket, will join Zeppelin as CTO. Zeppelin will be changing their name to Rocketinfo Inc. to reflect their focus upon this transaction. With the culmination of this transaction the company anticipates being able to devote the marketing resources necessary to expand their client base.

Rocketinfo's business information solutions use a dynamic database of current news sources. Rocketinfo's enterprise products feature search tools that are used by Rocketinfo's clients for business and competitive intelligence research and for ongoing market analysis. Rocketinfo software is also used for ongoing media monitoring and for the delivery of real time news headlines to Web sites such as NASCAR.com. Rocketinfo has integrated RSS content syndication formats into its indexing portfolio, and is using RSS in a number of ways, including the delivery of real-time business information to a desktop smart client application. The company also offers the Rocket RSS Reader, a Web-based reader, and RocketNews, a current news search engine.
