Google has announced enhancements to the Google Image Search. Google Image Search now displays current news images and links to news headlines related to a user's query. For example, a query on Google Image Search for "earth" will likely show relevant news images and links to related news stories at the top of the results pages if "earth" is in the news at the time of the query. This enhancement is intended to enables user to find the most recent results through Google Image Search. Google's algorithms determine whether there are any images in the news relevant to the query at that time, and if so, up to three news images appear on Google Image Search above the standard image search results. Accessible as a tab on the Google homepage and from http://images.google.com, Google Image Search features more than 880 million images.
