Lycos has announced HotBot Desktop, a free download that is designed to work as an Internet browser and can also index and search Outlook and Outlook Express email as well as files in Microsoft Office, PDF, and most text-based formats. In addition, the tool features an RSS browser, to which users can add custom RSS feeds or subscriber-based feeds. Lycos developed the new search tool in alliance with Argo Technology.
