Connexor, a provider of multilingual language technology, has signed a licensing agreement with Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a developer of enterprise search and real-time alerting technologies. Under this agreement, FAST has licensed Machinese components for multiple languages for use in its new enterprise search platform, FAST ESPT. Connexor develops embeddable language technology components for use in knowledge-intensive applications (e.g. knowledge management, interaction, translation, education, and speech).

FAST has also announced that Reuters will deploy a software solution developed by FAST that enables the company to protect its intellectual assets by improving brand and content protection. In identifying and logging Reuters content on the Internet, the FAST search derivative application (SDA) for content monitoring will generate reports for Reuters that will help the company to monitor the Internet for copyright infringements of Reuters content.

Reuters' deployment of the FAST content monitoring application builds upon its current use of FAST ESP, FAST's real-time enterprise search platform. The Reuters News Distribution Service (NDS) uses FAST ESP to provide news service subscribers with customized information. In addition, FAST ESP enables Reuters NDS subscribers to save specific company and news triggers, so that they can be alerted in real-time as new information on these topics are made public.

FAST ESP is offered through the FAST Data Search suite of enterprise search solutions, which includes FAST Data Search for Site Search; FAST Data Search for Compliance; FAST Data Search for eCommerce; FAST Data Search for Intranets; and FAST Data Search 360. The FAST Data Search product suite is designed to supply a complete information retrieval solution ideal for vertical markets and applications including ecommerce and internet portals, financial services; government; life sciences; media and publishing; and telecom.
