Nstein Technologies Inc., a provider of software solutions for managing and retrieving unstructured information, has signed a contract with Alis Technologies to work on a project with France's General Delegation for Armaments (DGA--an organization under the auspices of France's Ministry of Defense). The DGA is developing a project for an information portal for which Alis, through Nstein, will provide expertise in the organization of unstructured information and automatic multilingual categorization. Per the agreement, financial details have not been disclosed.

The DGA's mission is primarily to develop a 30-year plan for the Ministry of Defence that will be edited annually to guide future preparedness actions. It directs defense research and studies and the methods used by the DGA aim to combine program cost, scheduling, and performance objectives. Finally, the DGA is at the center of the construction of a European defense dimension. It seeks to promote co-operation between our partners, assists the French industry with its international consolidation, and actively supports exports. The DGA hopes to be able to offer its users access to a multilingual information platform with advanced document search and classification features and a notification feature whereby individual users will be able to access the most recent information available in their selected areas of interest.
