Endeavor Information Systems has announced LinkFinderPlus version 3.5, the third release of Endeavor's OpenURL-enabled link resolver, has entered beta testing at academic library customers. Providing increased user access to the full-text of e-content, LinkFinderPlus has been selected by 128 libraries on four continents.

LinkFinderPlus had its first commercial release in June 2002. This latest release provides library staff a faster implementation through bulk loading of full-text targets with a defined XML DTD. Users are able to access more information through the Knowledge Base of resources available in LinkFinderPlus, demonstrated in this release with linking to full-text articles in the OCLC FirstSearch databases. In LinkFinderPlus 3.5, an "invoke" feature presents users with pre-resolved links to full-text of journal articles, skipping the "menu" of options and reducing the number of clicks needed to obtain the full-text.

Libraries employing both ENCompass 3.5 and LinkFinderPlus 3.5 will have access to an additional development that will enable LinkFinderPlus full-text links to automatically appear inside the ENCompass interface. Leveraging the XML technology built into both LinkFinderPlus and ENCompass, this development enables full-text links to display directly in the ENCompass object-level displays instead of the LinkFinderPlus interface, saving users time in accessing research information.
