Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has announced the launch of a new portal covering enterprise search and related technologies. The site is to be launched in beta version on May 22 to coincide with the first day of the Enterprise Search Summit conference.

According to Dick Kaser, V.P. of Content for Information Today, Inc., "Enterprise Search and the technologies that surround it have emerged as a hot button topic for IT managers, Content Managers, Knowledge Management Professionals, and business executives at companies across the globe. Our conference on Enterprise Search has grown dramatically since its inception two years ago, and a year-round professional resource dedicated to the subject matter is long overdue." By collecting resources from ITI's content collection and the open Web, delivering new subject-focused content, and providing a platform for site users to interact with the technology itself and each other, the Enterprise Search Center is designed to provide an environment for those charged with identifying search solutions for their enterprise. The site's coverage will also include the related subjects of classification & taxonomies, search analytics, tagging & metadata, and content management.

Much of the functionality and features planned will be phased in over the next few months. Also planned for a later date, January 2007, is an annual print publication titled, Enterprise Search Sourcebook co-edited by EContent editor Michelle Manafy and Editor of KM World, Hugh McKellar.
