FAST has announced the general availability of FAST ProPublish 4.1. FAST ProPublish is a search-derivative application designed specifically for professional publishers and corporate publishers, providing a solution for gathering, processing, and delivering reference information both online and offline. FAST ProPublish enables publishers to provide a Web-based interface designed specifically for researchers. This interface, combined with the product's contextual navigation and relevancy tuning, allows business users to find the right information.

The out-of-the-box templates and user interface components delivered in FAST ProPublish are designed to facilitate the construction of researcher-centric user interfaces; additional flexibility and business logic can also be added through a well-designed application framework and software development kit. New features to ProPublish 4.1 include: Saved Searches and Bookmarks, both are personalized to the current user; History, which provides a detailed history of actions taken during the current session; the ability to email links to documents; the ability to scroll to first hit in a document; sub-document navigation, which uses the TOC to drill down into a document; additional localizations for the UI, such as Dutch, English, German, Portuguese, and Norwegian are available from the default Preferences page; a Default Advanced Search form, where a more generic Advanced Search should work with all document sets. Customers can create their own forms for their specific data sets; Support for the FAST Enterprise Crawler in the Production Manager; better support for Folio and NXT content types; the ability to create offline collections for distribution on CD / DVD (using FAST NXT technology); and configuration files designed to simplify customization.
