Elsevier has announced that its free science-specific search engine, Scirus, has partnered with Institute of Physics Publishing (IOP) to index the full text and metadata of its journals. IOP is a learned society publisher specializing in physics and related disciplines, with a journals list dating back to 1874.

IOP publishes titles in this subject area including the Journal of Physics series, as well as journals from 14 international publishing partners. Scirus has indexed all of IOP's journals and the majority of the titles from its partners dating back to volume 1, issue 1. The index includes physics titles from the American Institute of Physics and Elsevier, as well as preprints from ArXiv. Content from IOP is clearly identified on the Scirus results page, and can be searched as a separate source.
