Captiva Software Corporation, a provider of input management solutions, has announced the availability of Dispatcher 4.0, a new version of its document classification and extraction software.

Dispatcher includes the ability to identify and separate structured, unstructured, and handwritten documents, and automatically route them to the appropriate person or department within the enterprise for optimized processing. Dispatcher 4.0 now identifies documents and extracts business critical data by creating a "digital finger print" that combines text analysis and dynamic field positioning information to better analyze both the content and structure of each document. The digital fingerprint is designed to enable Dispatcher 4.0 to identify a document type, search for areas containing data to be extracted, and determine what type of data to extract.

The new version of Dispatcher also features the ability to detect and extract data from tables in a document. Dispatcher 4.0 introduces a mechanism for analyzing multiple-line invoice items and automatically manages page breaks when a line item continues to a consecutive page of the same invoice. The new 4.0 version of Dispatcher is also fully integrated with InputAccel, Captiva's document capture software. Dispatcher enables customers to streamline document capture and forms processing by sorting and indexing all types of documents.
