ISYS Search Software, a supplier of enterprise search solutions for business and government, has announced the immediate general availability of ISYS:Web 7, the company's enterprise search solution for public Web sites, corporate intranets, and portals.

New features to ISYS:Web 7, include: On-The-Fly Categorization, which automatically displays categories that enable users to drill down and find the right information. ISYS also provides administrators with tools for modifying categories according to their business rules; ISYS SearchTrends, which allows ISYS:Web 7 to parse raw search log data into meaningful reports that can enable organizations to monitor, measure, and analyze search behavior. Users can create custom reports or use the standard reports ISYS ships with, including top searches, peak search hours, and trends in the frequency (ascending or descending) of search terms; Web-Based Administration, which enables Web-based administration, providing IT administrators with an interface for configuring and deploying search.

ISYS:Web 7 can also be administered remotely; Metadata Searching and Handling, which allows organizations to inject it, weight it, display it, or leverage it for categorization purposes; Developer's Toolkit, designed to allow administrators two different approaches--deploy it out of the box, or, for organizations requiring greater flexibility, achieve maximum customization via ISYS:Web 7's developer's toolkit, which includes .NET and SOAP interfaces; Faster indexing speeds, doubled index capacity which is designed to offer enterprises even greater capacity. Administrators can create an unlimited number of indexes and chain up to 128 indexes, enabling users to search across 8 billion documents with a single search. The ISYS engine also offers greater performance, with a typical indexing speed of 10 GB per hour; Multi-Processor Support, which allows for enhanced indexing performance; and Unicode Support allows administrators to create multi-language indexes via Unicode.
