Thinkmap, Inc., a visualization technology firm, has announced the release of version 2.6 of its flagship visualization technology product, Thinkmap SDK. The Thinkmap SDK (software development kit) offers software developers the ability to build applications with control of filtering, display parameters, and animation of data. Through its configuration language, the Thinkmap SDK is designed to provide a balance between ease-of-use and the demands required for enterprise-level visualization applications. The new Thinkmap version offers features include a new XML data source. This new feature is designed to make it easier for users who have data in XML form to use Thinkmap. In addition, Thinkmap has improved a user's ability to work with custom data sources, providing companies with a more refined toolset for working with dynamic data.

The Thinkmap SDK provides visualization solutions, allowing developers to create applications for representing and navigating complex data sets. Thinkmap works with several data sources (XML, SQL, and Flat File Data) to present numerous views of the same data simultaneously, as well as incorporate multiple data sources into one visual interface. With a flexible XML-based configuration language, the Thinkmap SDK provides components for: visual look and layout (GUI), behavior of the visualization, and data access and control. Several pre-configured visualizations are available to choose from, and users can try different views of the same data. In addition, tutorials, a complete set of examples, and a library of interface elements are available to assist developers and Webmasters. The Thinkmap SDK also enables users to create their own customized Thinkmap applications with their data, and to integrate this information with their enterprise applications. Thinkmap SDK is sold in three editions: Standard, Professional, and Enterprise. Prices start at $5,000. The product can be purchased direct from the Web site.
