IBM has announced a new business intelligence (BI) solution that combines servers, storage, and software in a single package to offer information management. The IBM Data Warehousing Balanced Configuration Unit (BCU) combines IBM eServer pSeries p5-575 servers, TotalStorage DS4500, and DB2 Data Warehouse Edition into a single, scalable offering that can run on UNIX, Linux, or AIX.

The IBM Data Warehousing Balanced Configuration Unit (BCU) provides clients with: simplified hardware configuration; pre-installed database configuration; and systems and solution integration testing. Additionally, the BCU uses standard IBM hardware and software components so it can be used with any of the BI software applications already qualified on those platforms such as Siebel, SAS, SAP, and many others.
