Canadian Portal Selects Overture

Overture Services, Inc. has announced an exclusive, two-year agreement to provide its full suite of search products to the English version of, a Canadian Internet portal owned and operated by Bell Canada. Under terms of the agreement, Overture will serve up to five paid placement search listings at the top of the search results pages and three at the bottom. Additionally, Overture will provide algorithmic search results on the remainder of the search results page through its recent acquisition of the Web search unit of FAST. The agreement also covers paid inclusion in which businesses pay a fee to have their Web pages frequently refreshed by FAST's Web crawler and included in its index. Overture will separately provide with Content Match, Overture's new contextual advertising product, which embeds relevant results on content-based pages. Content Match features Overture's paid placement listings generated by the company's advertisers. Overture's search listings are generated by its advertisers who bid for placement on keywords relevant to their business. Overture currently operates commercial search networks in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.
