Optevi Enables Personalized Search
Posted Jun 9, 2006 Print Version     Page 1of 1

A new search capability called Optevi is designed to enable Web users to access information on the Internet through any existing technology. Optevi's tools complement existing web search technologies and can technically work as a search engine interface in front of potentially any existing search engine index such as Google, Yahoo!, or MSN.

Optevi's premiere feature is its "Bundles," which allows users to refine result sets into categories including "loves," "likes," "dislikes," and the "blacklist." Users can create their own Bundles, based on their past web search experiences and preferences, or use Bundles made by an expert they trust (such as a favorite doctor, reporter, or celebrity) or an associate (a friend, boss, or work colleague). Personal Bundles can even be merged with Bundles obtained from others. To create interest and adoption of its service, Optevi also offers public Bundles--Bundles based on particular pre-set areas of interest that can be used as templates for users to make their own sets, refining results by ranking, filtering and modifying.
